Just now, as I walked out of the clinic in the Bocacosta to place more chairs for waiting patients, one of our long time patients, who suffered a horrible stroke, stopped me.
She spoke to me in a soft voice…“Thank you all, so much for what you do. God Bless you, without you all, I don’t think I’d be able to keep going each day. No one else could do anything for me, I can barely talk and can’t move. But you all, you have never given up on me. Thank you.”
I smiled and gave her a hug. In my heart, I know that is why we are here, filling the gaps in care for the poorest and most underserved Guatemalans.
