Catarina had a long and hard life. She had many children. However, several of them died, and others became estranged towards the end of her life. Widowed and without a source of income, she found herself without a place to live the last few years.
Fortunately, our community health advocates were there to help. They quickly identified her needs, and were able to help arrange housing for her with a helpful local family. Additionally, our medical staff helped manage her heart disease, arthritis, and other symptoms related to old age, and our social assistance program was able to provide her with food and other necessities. As a result, Catarina was able to spend her last days in comfort and dignity, as she greatly deserved.
