Breast Cancer Awareness Month: One Mom

The phone rings.

Life stops.

You have cancer.

Work becomes a distraction; holidays become a nuisance.  All of your energy is focused on your disease.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual, international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign brings out celebrities, dignitaries and politicians.  Major foundations and hospitals raise money for advocacy and research.

At WK | Maya Health Alliance, we are focused on Maria.

Maria is a 46 year old mom, and a breast cancer patient.  She received the dreaded phone call recently from WK physician, Dra Maxbeny Waleska.

The good news is that Maria’s disease is in an early stage, and is potential treatable – if we act fast.  We have a potential funder for her surgery and treatment.  But, we need to get Maria’s pre-surgical routine funded.  For $300, we can run all of the tests Maria needs, and cover her transportation, lodging and translation.

During this month of awareness, could you help bring the cure to one mom?
