Launching our Sustaining Donor campaign!

|

One of the most special things about Wuqu’ Kawoq is our commitment to providing comprehensive care for “whatever we find” in the communities where we work. Just this month alone, we are coordinating care for 5 children who will need heart surgery, managing treatment for 4 adults with invasive cancers, and providing support to 6 infants with complicated genetic abnormalities.

Our commitment to providing the best possible medical care for Guatemala’s poorest comes at great cost. Our social workers spend hundreds of hours per month working on these cases, and nutrition and medication costs are not insignificant. In fact, we currently spend about $3500 per month meeting their needs!

Today, we are excited to be launching a new Sustaining Donor Initiative to meet the needs of these patients. We are looking for special donors to join this initiative, donors who share with us a commitment to providing the best possible care to Guatemala’s poorest.

As a Sustaining Donor, you would commit to a monthly donation of just $10 (or more!). Over the next 3 months, we plan to grow this program to 350 Sustaining Donors, which will cover all of our current expenses. Although $10 seems like a small amount, this money goes a long way! For example, it can provide the following:

– 1 month of medications for a child with heart failure
– 1 month of milk formula for a child with special needs
– Lodging and food for the family of a hospitalized patient
– Laboratory tests for a patient about to undergo surgery

As a Sustaining Donor, you will receive the following benefits:

– A signed certificate recognizing your commitment
– Recognition on our website and in our annual report in a special section (if you wish)
– Bimonthly newsletters
– Regular email updates on our projects

Will you join us today in our life-changing work in Guatemala? If so, please visit our website (http://www.wuqukawoq.org/donate/) where you can easily sign up to make a recurring monthly donation! Please put “Sustaining Donor” in the memo line to ensure that your contribution is properly recognized!

Sincerely,

Dr Peter Rohloff
